Annual Dinner Saturday 15 March 2008

7.15 FOR 7.45PM
Datchet Water Sailing Club
Queen Mother Reservoir, Horton Road, Horton, Slough SL3 9NT

Datchet Water Sailing ClubWe return this year to the highly praised venue of Datchet Water Sailing club, where last year we had an excellent evening. The venue has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Come early, meet your friends and enjoy pre-dinner aperitifs. Photos

Our after Dinner Speaker, from the Royall Corithian Yacht Club, is Anne Heasley who with husband Arthur as 'foredeck hand' chose last summer to bring their Swan 40 'Star Swan' back from the Canaries via the Azores to their home port of Burnham on Crouch after five years away.

Their stories include visiting an undeveloped Canary Island, meeting Blue Marlin fishers in Madeira, single handers and bubbling volcanos in the Azores. A memorable moment was when, in huge seas, a few ropes snarled up the mast and the foredeck hand called out, 'Hand me the carving knife ...'. Come and hear the full story. Booking form (27k pdf) and menu choices to be returned to Mary by March 6th. map
